Sade makes a comeback

Nigerian Sade Adu is on top once again with the return of Sade.

She burned up the charts in the 1980s before fading away for a decade at the dawn of 2000. Now singer Sade Adu is back and already at the top of the charts, barely a week after the release of her new album, Soldier of Love.

The Nigerian-born Brit, who modelled before becoming a singer, has not released a studio album since Lovers Rock in 2000. That was released eight years after Love Deluxe which came out in 1992.

The group Sade and its singer Sade Adu do not release new work very often. When they do it seems to follow the same recipe, a jazzy, romantic music that lends itself perfectly to the singer’s silky voice.

The new album has been number since its release in: the United States, Japan, France, Spain, Italy, Poland, Portugal, Greece, the Arab Emirates and Switzerland.
