Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have been together since December 2006. According to People, they have decided to make it official.
"Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while," Madden wrote on Twitter. He also thanked loved ones for not divulging their secret. "Thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody," he added.
Monday night (February 15) on the Late Show with David Letterman, Nicole Richie let slip that the couple were engaged to be married.
Richie and Madden have a girl Harlow, 2, and a boy Sparrow, 5 months.
Last October, Nicole Richie denied engagement rumours, saying, "One day I would love to get married. It’s not something we’re talking about right now. If my kids ask me to get married, I’d get married."
