40-year old designer Alexander McQueen was found dead yesterday morning (February 11) in his Green Park home in London, reports People.
Details of his death have not been officially released but, according to the Daily Mail, it seems the fashion designer hung himself.
McQueen’s death comes just days after his mother, Joyce, passed away and nearly three years after the suicide of his best friend, Isabella Blow. She discovered the designer and launched his career.
A family rep says, "Lee McQueen, the founder and designer of the Alexander McQueen brand, has been found dead at his home. At this stage it is inappropriate to comment on this tragic news beyond saying that we are devastated and are sharing a sense of shock and grief with Lee’s family."
Lee Alexander McQueen was named British designer of the year four times between 1996 and 2003, International Designer of the Year at the Council of Fashion Designer Awards and awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE).
