Drew Barrymore relaunches Charlie’s Angels

After starring in two film adaptations of the original series, Drew Barrymore wants to bring Charlie’s Angels back to television.

Drew Barrymore is planning to bring Charlie’s Angels back to television.

The actress produced and starred in two film adaptations of the 1970s series that launched Farrah Fawcett’s career.

In the two films released in 2000 and 2003, the Charlie’s Angels trio was made up of Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu.

Drew Barrymore now wants to breathe new life into the series. She is looking for a trio of sexy crime fighters. They must be "incredibly capable, but not take themselves too seriously. That’s a tough combination to find," she tells Starpulse.

Filmmaker McG, who directed Barrymore in the two movies, will be a consultant on the new television project.  They want to bring a more modern, 2010 perspective to the series. McG’s dream Charlie’s Angel choice would be singer Rihanna.
