Peter Gabriel, one of the biggest names in music, has had a love affair with Quebecers for more than 35 years. Tickets for his April 28 show at the Bell Centre in Montreal go on sale this Saturday (February 13) at noon.
The Scratch My Back mini-tour is only stopping in a few select cities in North America. It will promote Peter Gabriel’s unique, new concept album. He covers songs by artists who will also do a remake of one of his songs for an album coming out next year.
The Scratch My Back album will be released March 4 with covers of songs by Radiohead, Arcade Fire and David Bowie to name a few.
During 2010, these artists and groups will cover a Gabriel song that will appear on the I’ll Scratch Yours album to be released in 2011.
It is not known whether Peter Gabriel asked artists to stick to his solo material or if they can dip into the Genesis catalogue.
Gabriel will be accompanied by a 54-musician symphony orchestra at his upcoming concert. He will play songs from the new album during the first half before performing old classics.
