Angelina Jolie visits survivors

Angelina Jolie visits Haitian earthquake survivors.

Actress Angelina Jolie paid a visit on Monday (February 8) to children in a hospital in the Dominican Republic. The children survived the earthquake in Haiti on January 12.

The American star, who is also a goodwill ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, visited the Dario Contreras Hospital in Santo Domingo. She took a tour with hospital director Hector Quezada and stopped by the bedside of Haitians being treated there.

Jolie was joined by Gonzola Vargas Llosa, son of Peruvian writer Mario Vargas Llosa.

The actress and her partner, Brad Pitt, donated $1 million to Doctors Without Borders to help with the Haitian relief effort.

At that time, Jolie said, "It is incredibly horrible to see a catastrophe of this size hit a people who have been suffering from extreme poverty, violence and unrest for so many decades."
