Scarlett Johansson gets involved

Scarlett Johansson continues to help Haiti by designing a handbag exclusively for the cause.

Actress Scarlett Johansson wanted to do something special as her contribution to the Haitian relief effort. She decided to design an exclusive handbag in order to raise money to benefit earthquake victims, reports Orange News.

This tote designed by the star is decorated with an ancient map of Haiti and the message Supporting the people of Haiti, designed by Scarlett Johansson.

The handbag is on sale in Mango boutiques around the world and all profits from its sale will go to Oxfam. It created a relief fund for Haiti after the earthquake on January 12.

Johansson says, "I’m thrilled to be collaborating with Mango to promote conscious consumerism and to benefit Oxfam’s Haiti Earthquake Response Fund. By purchasing this bag, which I specially designed, you are helping to provide life saving assistance like clean water to the people of Haiti."

This is not the first thing that Johansson has done for Haiti. Last month, she held an auction giving four fans the chance to spend the evening with her.

Several stars have mobilized for the cause. It was announced this week that Jennifer Aniston was organizing a film benefit. A special screening of Oscar-nominated The Last Station will take place later this month. A reception with the director will take place after the movie.
