Garbage could release a new album

Singer Shirley Manson spent a week in studio with her old bandmates.

One of the most popular groups from the 90s, Garbage, is showing signs of life after stopping the show in 2005. Lead singer Shirley Manson posted an interesting Facebook status update that suggests the group is resurfacing.

"Guess who I just spent a week in the studio with?" Manson wrote. "Would you be pleased if I said one of them was called Steve and one of them was called Duke and another was a Grammy-winning producer?" It’s a pretty sure bet she was referring to Steve Marker, Duke Erikson and Butch Vig, the producer who founded the group in the 90s after producing Nirvana’s Nevermind and Smashing Pumpkins’ Siamese Dream.

Vig started producing again after the group took a break in 2005. He produced 21st Century Breakdown by Green Day for which he received the first Grammy Award of his career last Sunday. With Garbage, Vig prefers to sit behind the drums.

Apart from this comment, no other band member has commented about their time in studio.
