People reports that Gael García Bernal is the subject of recent rumours suggesting he has broken up with his girlfriend and is not the biological father of his year-old son, Lázaro.
Sources say the speculation is just that, speculation. A person close to the 31-year old Mexican actor says, "It’s completely untrue."
A source adds that Bernal and his girlfriend, Argentinian actress Dolores Fonzi, "are happy together and they love their son. This is totally made up."
Many blogs are reporting this week that the Babel actor and Fonzi announced their split. They also claim Bernal demanded a DNA test to prove that Lázaro is really his son after finding out Fonzi was unfaithful.
A rep for Bernal confirmed that the rumours are false while Fonzi’s rep had no comment.
Dolores Fonzi gave birth to their son on January 8, 2009 in Madrid.
The couple met for the first time in 2001 on the set of the film Vidas privadas. The two actors have been dating since December 2007.
Bernal previously went out with actress Natalie Portman.
