After several days of break-up speculation, the Daily News website is reporting that the couple did visit a high profile L.A. lawyer last week. But only to protect their assets.
A source explains, "They aren’t married, so they need to protect their children and property in case there’s a rift in the future."
After hearing that the couple signed legal papers, the media immediately assumed they were heading to Splitsville.
It was not the only reason people were jumping to conclusions. Rumours grew when the couple did not attend the Golden Globe or SAG Awards.
The source continues, "That’s not entirely out of the ordinary for them. Although ‘Inglourious Basterds’ was nominated, Brad wasn’t up for anything individually, and neither was Angelina. Besides, they’re Brangelina. They can do whatever they want."
The couple have been really busy in the past while with family outings and work obligations. Both actors are working on the preproduction of upcoming films. Jolie will star in The Tourist while Pitt is gearing up for The Lost City of Z.
