Avril Lavigne Delays Album Release

Avril Lavigne’s next album won’t be released on schedule because she’s having a hard time working with her ex-husband.

Lavigne was forced to delay her next release, because she isn’t ready to work with her former husband, Deryck Whibley.

The singer, who filed divorce papers against the Sum 41 singer last October, is struggling to complete Pink Crust, since Whibley is serving as the album’s producer.

An inside source revealed, "The uglier it gets in court, the uglier it gets in the studio. The first eight songs, Avril and Deryck worked with a lot of love and it came easy. But there’s three or four more to do and they just aren’t feeling it."

The former couple has tried to establish a production schedule to resume recording and get the album ready for release in the coming months.  "It’ll be a terrific album if they can put this aside for a month or so and concentrate on what matters – the music," added the source.

Lavigne and Whibley were married in July 2006.  They announced last year that they were going their separate ways, and that the split was amicable.

Avril Lavigne will be performing the title track for the Alice in Wonderland soundtrack.  The album will be in stores on March 2.  The Tim Burton film, starring Johnny Depp, will open in theatres on March 5.
