The Scottish singer, who has been living a fairy tale and has been acing practically all album charts since I Dreamed a Dream debuted nearly six weeks ago, now has some competition. The latest sensation, Ke$ha, has entered the charts with strong sales from her debut album, Animal. The album has nowhere to go but up, thanks to Ke$ha’s smash hit single Tik Tok, which currently plays nonstop on dancefloors and radio stations.
Initial sales projections for Ke$ha’s album were set at around 100 000 copies the first week, but the numbers exceeded expectations with nearly 150 000 copies, which will easily allow her to surpass Boyle, whose album sales have been on the decline since her album was first released.
Currently, nothing has been confirmed, but judging from Ke$ha’s spectacular album sales, one might assume that Boyle could be bumped down to second place.
