Salma Hayek is currently in negotiations with CBS Films to star in the action drama alongside Johnson and Thornton, while Maggie Grace (Lost, Taken) has already signed on for the project.
According to Variety, Johnson will play an ex-con who wants to avenge his brother’s death from 10 years back when the brothers were both double-crossed during a heist. But in his quest to find the murderer, he will be tracked down by a veteran cop, played by Thornton.
The film will be directed by George Tillman Jr. (Notorious, Men of Honor). Joe and Tony Gayton have penned the script. Filming is set to begin in Los Angeles in February, and the film is headed to theatres on October 15.
Salma Hayek will be seen sharing the screen with Adam Sandler and Maria Bello in the comedy Grown Ups on June 25. As for Maggie Grace, she has finished shooting Knight and Day with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The film opens on July 2.
