J.Lo Doesn’t Want a Test-Tube Baby

Jennifer Lopez would never consider in vitro fertilization in order to get pregnant.

Despite the fact that in vitro fertilization is quite common in Hollywood, the singer and actress said she never even considered it when she wanted to start a family with her husband, Marc Anthony.

"When it comes to family and relationships, I’m quite traditional. Just because of the way I was raised. And I also believe in God and I have a lot of faith in that, so I just felt like you don’t mess with things like that," she told Elle magazine.

Lopez also explained her mindset on her chances of getting pregnant naturally. "I guess deep down, I really felt like either this is not going to happen for me or it is.  You know what I mean? And if it is, it will. And if it’s not, it’s not going to."

The subject of using artificial means to become pregnant has haunted Lopez since the announcement that she was expecting twins.  The occurrence of multiple births is much more common during in vitro fertilization than natural conception.  Lopez is also playing a mother who decides to use insemination to have children in her next film, The Back-Up Plan.  The romantic comedy opens in theatres on April 16.
