Jennifer Lopez Wants an Oscar

Jennifer Lopez has expressed her unhappiness over not having been given an Oscar for her work in the film El Cantante.

In an interview with Latina magazine, Lopez slammed the Oscar voters who ignored her in the 2008 nominations.

Lopez felt completely left out when she saw that her name was not included in the Best Actress nominees list.  The singer and actress believes that her work in El Cantante, in which she and real-life hubby, Marc Anthony, played Hector Lavoe and his wife, Puchi, was Oscar-worthy.

"I feel like I had that (Oscar role) in ‘El Cantante’, but I don’t even think the Academy members saw it. I feel like it’s their responsibility to do that, to see everything that’s out there, everything that could be great," said Lopez.

The star added that if she would have won, she would have been happy to accept the award from her hospital bed, as she was giving birth to her twins, Max and Emme, at the time.

However, Lopez isn’t giving up and still plans to find a way to get her own Oscar statue.  "Things will happen when they’re supposed to happen. I have the utmost faith and no doubt that it will (happen) one day."
