Does Susan Boyle Have Bond Power?

The coveted James Bond theme song may be performed by Susan Boyle.

Is there no end to the Susan Boyle fairy tale?  By now, we all know the incredible story of the 48-year-old singer from Scotland who shot to fame in April.  Boyle became a household name after being discovered on Britian’s Got Talent and having her performance circle the globe on YouTube.

Now, it’s been revealed that Boyle is being considered to record the theme song for the next James Bond flick, which is set to be released in 2011.

Producers are hoping that Boyle’s vocals can bring the theme song back to its original genre, a bit more like the Shirley Bassey era.  Bassey recorded the songs for three Bond films, including Goldfinger (1964), Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Moonraker (1979).

Boyle has already been given the nod from Monty Norman, composer of the classic 007 music. "They’ll think seriously because she’s got the right kind of sweeping voice," said Norman.
