Stories Pour In Over Brittany Murphy’s Death

Several artists have felt compelled to share words of affection following Brittany Murphy’s sudden death.

Yesterday morning (December 20), the 32-year-old Brittany Murphy died of cardiac arrest. Since then, many stars have come forward to talk about their feelings for the actress.

Among them, Ashton Kutcher, who shared the screen with her in Just Married and also dated the actress following the film, wrote on Twitter, "Today, the world lost a little piece of sunshine. My deepest condolences go out to Brittany’s family, her husband & her amazing mother, Sharon."

Jessica Simpson also used Twitter to share her pain, "Brittany Murphy was an incredible ray of light to so many people. Her smile was contagious. My prayers are with her family and loved ones."

TMZ reported that her husband, Simon Monjack, did not want an autopsy to be performed, but the Los Angeles coroner advised that one would be performed either today (December 21) or tomorrow. A toxicology report will be carried out as well investigating the cause of death. However, at this time, the cause of death does not appear to be suspicious.

Sources report that the actress was very ill in the hours preceding her heart failure. She was vomiting heavily and reportedly said to her loved ones that she felt gravely ill. Murphy was taking prescription medication to treat a flu. However, several other medications were found in her home. It is believed she may have taken various medications, but it’s still too early to confirm anything. The autopsy will shed some light on the true cause of  her death.
