According to ShockTillYouDrop.com, Fishburne, who is known for his roles in The Matrix franchise, Armored and the CSI television series, has joined the cast of the new Predators film.
Filming takes place in Austin, Texas under the direction of Nimrod Antal (Vacancy). Robert Rodriguez and Elizabeth Avellan are producing the project through the company Troublemaker Studios.
In this new instalment, a group of elite soldiers land on a planet where they will be hunted down by a ruthless alien race, and come across unthinkable atrocities.
Adrien Brody, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins and Alice Braga have also been confirmed to join the cast.
20th Century Fox plans to release the film on July 7, 2010.
Laurence Fishburne will also be featured in the drama 4Chosen with Billy Zane (Titanic), which begins filming next year. Also in 2010, he will be starring alongside Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Robert Duvall and Andy Garcia in the war drama The Last Full Measure.
