Lil Wayne will be going to jail shortly after the release of his next album, Rebirth, which hits stores on February 1.
According to a ruling from a Manhattan court yesterday (December 15), Wayne will be put behind bars on February 9 to serve his sentence for an illegal weapon charge.
The rapper pleaded guilty in October to charges of illegal possession of weapons. The case dates back to 2007, when Wayne’s tour bus was stopped and searched.
Last September, actress Lauren London gave birth to Wayne’s third child, Lennox Samuel Ari Carter. He is already the father of a daughter, Reginae Carter, with his ex-wife Toya Johnson, and a son, Dwayne Michael Carter III, born last year. Baby Dwayne’s mother’s identity has not been revealed.
