Timbaland Is Through with Hip-Hop

Timbaland recently admitted that his hip-hop days are a thing of the past, and that he’s taking on new musical ventures.

The music producer admits that he’s officially thrown in the towel as a hip-hop artist, and commented that it’s just not what it used to be.

Timbaland began his career working with hip-hop pioneers, such as Ginuwine and Missy Elliott, but he has since strayed from his roots and has instead veered towards pop music.

After working with Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado and the Pussycat Dolls, the producer seems to have zeroed in on a new frontier. He said, "I was done with hip-hop a long time ago. Once my generation left, I left. I do it, but there’s nobody from my generation besides Jay-Z who’s doing it. I look at Lil Wayne as being from my generation. Some people are still acceptable. Kanye (West) is acceptable from my generation. It’s just not the same."

He went on to explain that after being swept away with the new waves of change, he has opted to tweak his songs to jive with the new music trends.
