Artist Lineup for Lilith Fair

Sarah McLachlan announced that she will be performing at this summer’s Lilith Fair.

Twelve years ago, the Canadian songstress founded the tour that headlines only female artists. McLachlan announced the majority of artists that will be performing in 2010, after the festival came to a halt in 1999.

This time, Sarah McLachlan will be sharing the stage with Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, the Indigo Girls, Tegan and Sara, Erykah Badu, Mary J. Blige, Colbie Caillat, Ke$ha, Miranda Lambert, Sugarland, and the Canadian group Metric, with lead singer Emily Haines.

No official dates have been announced for the 2010 Lilith Fair tour, but word has it that it will travel to 18 different North American cities and make a hop over to London.

When the tour first kicked off in 1997, Lilith Fair stopped in 37 cities, and was the most lucrative of the summer with profits of 16 million dollars, which went to different women’s charities.

Sarah McLachlan came up with the concept of Lilith Fair after being fed up with management who had refused to let two women perform in a row in the same concert.
