Lil Wayne Bumps Rebirth Again

Lil Wayne has once again delayed the release of the album Rebirth.

The star’s upcoming album has been put on hold again.  Initially, Rebirth was to hit the market on April 7, 2009.  However, the release date was bumped to December 15, and now the disc won’t be out before 2010.

The news was not confirmed by the record company in a press release, however, Bryan "Birdman" Williams, the owner of the Cash Money label, shared the news via Twitter.

Last spring, the first single from Rebirth, called Prom Queen, hit the airwaves.  Its March release was followed with the release of the second track, Hot Revolver.  A few other tracks have been reportedly leaked onto the Web, but most news from the Lil Wayne camp has been about more delays.

The album’s latest release date is set for February 1, 2010.  No reason for the delay was reported, however, it does coincide with the rapper’s sentencing date following his October guilty plea for attempted criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.  Lil Wayne is expected to be sentenced to a year behind bars.
