The debut single from the group’s latest project was recently released.
Billy Corgan, frontman for the Chicago band, just released the first track from Teargarden by Kaleidyscope, entitled A Song for a Son. The album will comprise an astounding 44 songs.
In the song, Corgan taps into his psychedelic side, giving it a sound reminiscent of 1970s rock music. Performing on the track is the band’s new drummer, Mike Byrne, only 19, who was born two years after the birth of the group itself.
A Song for a Son can be heard for free on the group’s Internet site. The other 43 tracks will follow in the same fashion, as they are posted upon completion. All 44 tracks will be grouped into several 4-track mini-CDs.
During an interview with Rolling Stone magazine last September, Corgan announced that the entire album would be made available in the form of free downloads, no strings attached.
