Entourage To Hit the Big Screen

Apparently, HBO has no problems transforming some of their hottest series into theatre packers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Entourage is the latest HBO series to be adapted for the silver screen.

Actor Mark Wahlberg, who produces the cable series and has made a few cameo appearances, recently spoke about the future film.  "We’ll see, there could be more (seasons), but then a film," Wahlberg told the journal.

Another two seasons are planned for the series, and writers are already working on scripts.  Entourage was created in 2004 by Doug Ellin, and stars Kevin Connolly, Adrian Grenier, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven.

The show is also known for having special appearances in the shows, including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, James Cameron, Peter Jackson, Jimmy Kimmel and Tony Bennett.

The last HBO series to hit the big screen was Sex and the City.  The series ran on the cable network from 1998 until 2004, and a second film is scheduled to hit theatres on May 28, 2010.  There is also word that the HBO series, The Sopranos, will be getting the cinema treatment.
