John Lennon Recording for Sale

A 1980 recording session featuring John Lennon has been put up for sale.

An Internet site is selling John Lennon’s recording session of Double Fantasy, his last album that was released in 1980, the year he was murdered by John Chapman.

On the site, the vendor of the rarity revealed, "This 13 minute selection of John’s vocals, singing from the vocal booth on August 19th 1980 was recorded on high quality tape. From that master recording, listen to some great moments of John speaking to the band, kidding around with his recording engineer and as he performs three songs, ‘Dream Lover’ with a medley into ‘Stay A Little Bit Longer.’ He then jokes around with everyone and then performs Mystery Train (the song Elvis Presley had made famous)."

Yoko Ono, who normally handles Lennon’s recording rights, has not commented on the sale, nor has she validated its authenticity.
