Helen Mirren to Win Big Honours

Helen Mirren will be rewarded for her lifetime achievement.

The Oscar-winning actress will be honoured for her life’s work in film during the 21st edition of the Palm Springs International Film Festival in California, reports Orange News.
 
The Prime Suspect star will be granted the Career Achievement award during the event, which will be held on January 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
 
Organizers for the event revealed that Mirren would be given the trophy "for her large and distinguished body of work," and added that she is "one of the most outstanding actresses of her generation."
 
Several other stars will be honoured during the evening, including Morgan Freeman, Mariah Carey and Anna Kendrick.
 
The festival, which has been going on since 1989, will take place from January 5 until January 18, 2010.
 
Helen Mirren will soon be filming Red, with Bruce Willis, which will be in theatres on November 19, 2010. She will also be starring alongside James McAvoy in The Last Station, opening January 15.
