The singer and her father are no longer on speaking terms following a dispute when Fenty was drunk at one of her concerts. Rihanna insists that he’s the one who has been keeping the feud alive.
She explained, "I’ve been the one trying to reconcile with him forever. I haven’t heard from my father in over a year. I try though, I reached out to him. I did my part. Now it’s on him."
Last week, Fenty told reporters that he’s been trying to contact his 21-year-old daughter for months, but she’s refused his calls.
In addition to her father’s alcohol problems, Rihanna was not happy to learn that her father spoke publicly about the attack she suffered at the hands of her then-boyfriend, Chris Brown. "I hadn’t spoken to him and he was speaking as though we did. It was so disappointing to me."
The young star previously revealed that her childhood had been marred by drug problems, adding that her parents separated when she was 14 years old.
