Nick Jonas Leaves Brothers Behind

Nick Jonas is starting his own group.

This news may cause girls to weep. Nick Jonas has decided to go it alone and form a new band called Nick Jonas & The Administration.

Groupies of the world can breathe easily though, since Nick has no intention of quitting his brotherly band. Nick explained to People, "This is something that can definitely co-exist with the Jonas Brothers."

As for performing without his brothers, the 17-year-old singer/songwriter admitted, "I’ve never really stood center stage before. It’s going to be different but I’m looking forward to it." Moreover, he said that his brothers are supporting him 100%, and that they will be in the stands cheering him on. "My brothers are my biggest supporters. They have told me they’re looking forward to coming to the shows. They want to sit in the audience and see it from that perspective."

Nick Jonas & The Administration will begin a 14-city tour beginning January 2, 2010, and their album is slated for February 2.

There’s a chance of hearing some funky sounds from the new group, since three of the musicians backing Nick Jonas are members of Prince’s group, New Power Generation. The other member of the group is Jonas Brothers producer John Fields, who plays bass.
