First Glimpse of Third Narnia Flick

Three first official photos of the third Narnia film have been posted on the project’s Facebook page.

To keep fans satiated for a year or so, Fox Walden posted the first photos on the Internet of the new Narnia adventures, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

This time, the director of the first two instalments, Andrew Adamson, was replaced by Michael Apted (The World Is Not Enough).

In the next story, Lucy (Georgie Henley) and Edmund (Skandar Keynes) return to Narnia to find their cousin. They will team with Prince Caspian (Ben Barnes), who is now king and embarks on a sea voyage.

Filming has come to a close in Australia.

Disney pulled out of the franchise, claiming that Narnia was no longer profitable for them. Walden Media then joined forces with 20th Century Fox.

The first film, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, was released in 2005 with a budget 180 million dollars and brought in 739 million at box offices worldwide. In 2008, The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian made its way to the big screen. The budget for this sequel was set at 200 million dollars, and the film earned 419 million.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is headed for theatres on December 10, 2010.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair is in the process of being written, and is slated for 2011.
