Leona Lewis Teams with Stella McCartney

Leona Lewis has joined Stella McCartney to introduce a new line of animal-friendly clothing.

Lewis, who was discovered in 2006 on Britain’s X-Factor, is standing up for animal rights with the launch of a new clothing line.  The new collection, created with help from Stella McCartney, is free of leather and fur.

The singer, who was recently named the Sexiest Vegetarian in the World by PETA, is a long-time animal rights activist.  She was sure that this project would be a great way to follow her convictions, while showing the world that animals don’t need to be worn.

A source revealed of the collaboration, "Leona and Stella got on famously. They are both vegetarians, don’t wear leather and are huge animal lovers. The [fashion] line would be very animal-friendly."

Lewis also told a friend, “I’m on a mission. I’d love to promote a line of non-leather bags and shoes that are affordable. I think more needs to be available and not so expensive. There’s so much I want to do. I’ve always wanted to have my own fashion line, and that’s something I want to focus on next year.”

The Stella McCartney youth collection has been available at Gap Kids and Baby Gap since November 3.
