After starring in Sin City and Fantastic Four, Alba will take on another comic book adaptation, reports TotalFilm.
The actress has acquired the rights to The Insiders, and will also produce the flick.
Created in 2002, The Insiders follows the adventures of a Colombian woman who is as beautiful as she is deadly. She is also a weapons expert, has the fight skills of James Bond, and is a master of self-defence.
Responding to a request from the White House, she infiltrates a mafia-like organisation that was formed by businessmen and politicians. She will become the bodyguard for the leader of the organisation.
No filming date has been set, but Mabrouk El Mechri, who worked on JCVD, is expected to direct the film.
In the meantime, the actress has several films lined up for release, including Valentine’s Day on February 12. She will also star in Machete, opening April 16. Currently, she is in Chicago on the set of Little Fockers, which hits theatres July 30, 2010. We are also awaiting release dates for her other films, An Invisible Sign of My Own and The Killer Inside Me.
