Tragedy Strikes the Miley Cyrus Tour

Miley Cyrus has lost a member of her tour crew.

The singer’s tour took a dramatic twist last week when her bus driver died in a crash.  53-year-old Bill Douglas died, and nine passengers were injured, after the bus that was hauling the star’s technical equipment to Greensboro, North Carolina veered off the road.

It seems that a 911 call was placed, indicating that Douglas had allegedly suffered a heart attack after being trapped as a result of the crash.

During the recorded call, which Access Hollywood obtained, a man said, "RV flipped over. The man just went into cardiac arrest. We are going to need some help soon… He’s moving… He’s turning purple."

Cyrus, 17, was not traveling with her team when the accident occurred.

The singer paid homage to her late driver on her Website and wrote, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill "Uncle Bill" Douglas. Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed."
