No Bull for Tom Cruise

The filming of Knight and Day has been postponed until further notice.

Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, who were planning to head to Spain next weekend (November 28 and 29) to film scenes for Knight and Day, must wait for authorities to give the green light.

The mayor of Cariz ordered filming to stop due to security reasons and for reassessment of policy.

Two women were slightly injured in the streets of Cariz while seven bulls escaped from the set. The bulls were used to recreate a scene of the traditional bull runs of Pamplona, where the animals charge the streets and are rounded up 40 minutes later.

"Nothing will be filmed in Cadiz until we have a new plan that guarantees the safety of local residents," a spokesperson for the mayor told Orange News.

The film’s producer, Calle Cruzada, insists that he doesn’t know how the bulls were able to escape.

The incident has raised concerns among anti-bullfighting organisations that have asked Cruise and Diaz to withdraw from the project. "Apart from the fact that bulls are abused for this movie, we also fear that after seeing this movie, even more American and other tourists will participate in the bull runs in Pamplona and elsewhere in Spain," CAS International revealed in a press release.
