The singer, who was rumoured to have broken up with the music producer back in July, admitted during a radio interview that she hasn’t kept in touch with any former boyfriends except for Jermaine Dupri.
As a guest on the Bert Show in Atlanta, Jackson stated, ‘I’m not the type of girl that stays in touch with your ex like that. But Jermaine is one of my best friends. I love him to death. We’re still connected. We’re still good friends. We still talk."
The 43-year-old singer sparked rumours of ending her seven-year relationship with Dupri while mourning the death of her superstar brother, Michael, who died in June.
It was reported that Janet preferred to take time for herself because she felt overwhelmed by her boyfriend.
A friend of the couple stated, "You shouldn’t mix business with pleasure. Janet felt their lives were too crossed and they should have kept things separate."
Dupri produced several songs on Jackson’s last two albums, 20 Y.O. in 2006 and Discipline in 2008.
It seems that the singer feels that her man was involved in too many areas of her life.
