A New Film for Roy Dupuis

Roy Dupuis will be starring in a new film.

Dupuis will be sharing the screen with Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, After the Wedding) and Harvey Keitel (Pulp Fiction) in the remake of the European film, Cut Throats Nine.

Although Dupuis’ agent told La Presse that the actor is interested in the role, there has been no word yet on an official contract.

The film will be directed by Rodrigo Gudino, who directed a few short films, including The Facts in the Case of Mister Hollow and The Demonology of Desire.

Cut Throats Nine is a modern Western with a lot of violence and death.  The original film, Condenados a Vivir, was directed by Joaquin Luis Romero Marchent and released in 1972.

Roy Dupuis was reportedly chosen for his role because of his physical contrast to the other stars, with softer features.

Negotiations are currently underway to move the project forward.  Vincent Cassel is also rumoured to be joining the cast.  Cassel and Dupuis worked together in a French film last year.

Filming of Cut Throats Nine is expected to begin in February.  The interior scenes will be shot in a studio in France, while outdoor shots will be done in Ontario.
