Ohio Wants to Stop Unstoppable

The filming of Unstoppable is causing problems in Ohio.

The cast and crew of the film Unstoppable, starring Denzel Washington and Chris Pine, are bringing unrest to the people of Bellaire, Ohio.  The town residents are not happy about the closure of several roads in their area, reports FemaleFirst.

Additionally, filming has disrupted school bus service for the region’s children, requiring the youngsters to walk far from home to catch their bus.

Unstoppable, directed by Tony Scott, tells the true story of an experienced engineer (Washington) who climbs aboard a locomotive with a young driver (Pine) to stop a driverless train that is transporting dangerous cargo.

City authorities apologized about forgetting to warn parents of street closures and the changing of school bus routes.

The project also had problems last June, when Washington backed out of the film.  It was reported that the star was forced to accept a pay cut due to budget problems.  However, a few weeks later, Washington settled the issue with studio bosses and was back on board.

Unstoppable is expected to hit theatres on November 12, 2010.  Denzel Washington will also star in The Book of Eli, opening on January 15.
