During her appearance on the Tonight Show, Witherspoon, who was promoting her new fragrance, spoke about her obsession with trash.
The actress doesn’t seem to be big on recycling. "I like to throw things away. I’m obsessed with garbage," she said.
The worst revelation was about her habit of sneaking trash over to her next-door neighbours’ when hers piles up. "After a holiday or a birthday, I have tons and tons of garbage and it always overflows and I always sort of peek out late at night and look at the neighbours’ garbage can, and it’s, like, empty. They’re like these amazing people that have no trash. So, if I have a particularly bad day, where I have a lot of extra garbage, I go and take my garbage and put it in theirs," confessed the star.
Witherspoon isn’t very proud of herself, and even admits that she puts on her rubber boots to get on top of and smash down the garbage, but has angered environmentalists who advocate recycling and composting.
