DDirect Flights from New York to Iceland in 2010

It will be easier to do go Iceland in 2010.

The economic situation may be catastrophic, and near bankruptcy, but at least, tourism to Iceland is on the increase.  Iceland Express, the airline serving the country, will add flights to meet the incessant demand to the Nordic country where the breathtaking scenery attracts tourists seeking a communion with nature and silence.

Some of these new air connections will be operational within 6 weeks, with one leaving from New York in the United States.  Effective June 1, there will be 4 flights a week linking the two countries.

In summer 2010, no fewer than 25 cities will be served by Iceland Express to meet the demand of travelers heading for the airport in Reykjavik, the Icelandic capital.

Matthias Imsland, CEO of Iceland Express said: "This next year is going to be an extremely exciting for us.  Iceland Express is going from strengh to strength at the moment and we cannot wait to begin flying to our new destinations.  We are especially delighted to be going transatlantic and hope our new service will entice more consumers to fly with us, whether they want to discover the glacial beauty and vibrant culture of Iceland or take a low-cost trip to New York."
