New Actors Join Red

New actors could be joining the cast of the film Red.

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Richard Dreyfuss (My Life in Ruins), Julian McMahon (Premonition), Ernest Borgnine (The Dirty Dozen) and Brian Cox (Troy) are negotiating with Summit Entertainment to star in Red with Bruce Willis.

Red was inspired by three volumes of comic books telling the story of a retired secret service agent of the CIA who must face young assassins with cutting-edge technology that are trying to kill him.

Dreyfuss would play a man who gets rich off of government contracts, McMahon would portray a vice president at the heart of the conspiracy, Borgnine would guard the darkest documents of the CIA, while Cox would play a former Cold War spy and the enemy of Bruce Willis’s character.

Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, John C. Reilly and Mary Louise Parker complete the cast.

In the meantime, we can see Richard Dreyfuss in Leaves of Grass alongside Edward Norton and Susan Sarandon, opening December 25. Julian McMahon will share the screen with Gillian Anderson in the drama The Smell of Apples in 2011. Ernest Borgnine is awaiting a release date for The Genesis Code. Brian Cox, will star in the thriller As Good as Dead, which also has no release date yet.
