Alley has inked a deal with A&E to star in the new series, which will begin airing in 2010.
The series contract includes 10 episodes in which we will follow the actress while she tries to battle weight issues and raise two teenagers alone. Although Alley has been the subject of many headlines over the years, this will be the first time that she allows cameras into the privacy of her home.
Last summer, Alley was furious at The National Enquirer for printing a story claiming that the star was so overweight that she had only four years left to live. The newspaper reported that the 58-year-old star’s binge eating and yo-yo dieting had taken a few years off of her life.
In 2005, Alley appeared on the show Fat Actress, and more recently the star told People magazine that she has 83 pounds to lose, but she plans to get her life on track.
