Edward Norton’s Marathon Record

Edward Norton is the fastest actor to have run the New York marathon.

On Sunday, November 1, Norton crossed the finish line in the New York race in 3 hours, 48 minutes and 1 second. This makes him the speediest celebrity thus far, and put him ahead of other stars, such as Alanis Morissette and ER actor Anthony Edwards.

The 40-year-old actor described his experience as "phenomenal." He is also proud to have met his personal goal, which was to beat ex-vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s record. Palin finished the marathon in 4 hours.

Norton ran to raise funds for Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust, which promotes conservation, education and health services in southern Kenya. The actor trained with Maasai warriors for the occasion.

Strokes bassist Nikolai Fraiture also ran the marathon, crossing the line at 4 hours and 23 minutes.

Teri Hatcher could not participate due to laryngitis.
