Working Is Good For Your Health

According to a new study, continuing to work after retirement improves health.

An American study revealed that retirees who continue to work have better health than those who have become inactive.

For the last six years, researchers monitored the health of 12 000 retirees for diseases like hypertension, diabetes, cancer, respiratory disease, heart disease, stroke and mental illness.

People who continued to work had a decreased incidence of these diseases compared to those who stopped working. In addition, those who worked in the same field as they did previously had fewer psychological problems.

Although, the incidence of disease was only moderately decreased, researchers feel it is significant.
