David Duchovny Is Ready for X-Files 3

Actor David Duchovny has been talking about the possibility of a third X-Files film.

Producer and screenwriter Frank Spotnitz and actress Gillian Anderson have both been speaking about adding a new film to the franchise, and now it’s Duchovny’s turn.

However, the second film that was released last year, The X-Files: I Want to Believe, was disappointing at the box office.  The film, which had a budget of $30 million, earned only $70 million worldwide.

Duchovny would like to see a third film in 2012.  According to Moviehole, the star said that he’d like to get back to the heart of the television series, possibly with an alien conspiracy.  At the Sarajevo Film Festival, Anderson revealed that a third film was in development.

In the meantime, David Duchovny is working on his television series, Californication, and Gillian Anderson will soon be filming the comedy No One Gets Off in This Town.
