The singer told the London Times that she used to have a drug problem. The star added, however, that it’s been over for more than 10 years, and it’s just something from her past.
Fergie explained, "It started with ecstasy. I loved ecstasy. Loved it, loved it. It was great at first, then it just went…."
While using drugs, she was often paranoid and constantly watched out the windows, believing that the FBI was following her. She also had hallucinations and could talk to a basket of laundry for eight hours. Then, one day while trying to buy marijuana in Los Angeles, a dealer pointed a gun at her head.
Fergie feels that her drug problems were the result of her being a child star. From 1984 until 1990, she starred on the Disney show Kids Incorporated. "What happens when you’re a child professional is that you have to be, well, professional. You’re taught not to have tantrums, to always people-please," she explained.
