Johnny Depp Not Jumping Ship

Rumours that Johnny Depp is backing out of Pirates of the Caribbean are false.

Management for Disney films denies the rumours that Depp is fixing to leave the film franchise, reports Orange News.

The actor sparked rumours of abandoning his role as Jack Sparrow, after he revealed his disappointment about the departure of Disney’s president, Dick Cook, who hired Depp for the role.

The actor expressed, "There’s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm (for the project) at the moment. It was all born in that office.”

However, a spokesperson for Disney insists that Depp is still on board for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and added that the rumours are "completely unfounded."

The next Pirates instalment is set to open in the summer of 2011.
