Eating At Night Promotes Weight Gain

Nibbling at night is far more damaging than eating during the day.

Researchers at Northwestern University in Illinois concluded that late-night snacks are more harmful to your health because it promotes weight gain. The results of their study were published in the magazine Obesity.

Eating at times that contradict your body rhythms disturbs normal metabolism and causes weight gain.

During the experiment, laboratory rats who were fed fat during the night took on 48% more weight compared to rats who were fed the same way during regular eating hours throughout the day.

Several factors influence metabolism: body temperature, energy expenditure, hormones and sleep quality in particular.

It is strongly recommended to avoid late-night snacks and instead enjoy good meals throughout the day to keep hunger under control.
