United Airlines New Luggage Charges

United Airlines removes one of its advantages.

Following the trend established by Continental Airlines and US Airways last August, United Airlines announced that passengers must pay for extra luggage that they bring on the plane.

Passengers on trans-Atlantic flights between the United States and Europe will be charged 50 US dollars for an extra bag.

People traveling between the United States and Mexico or the Caribbean have to pay 30 dollars for the same bag.

The increase in luggage cost is one way for airlines to raise revenue due to a decrease in air travel.
