Yelchin (Terminator Salvation, Star Trek) will star as the son of characters played by Jodie Foster and Mel Gibson in the dark comedy, which will also be directed by Foster.
Written by Kyle Killen, the film tells the story of a depressed man (Gibson) who carries around a beaver puppet. He treats the puppet as if it has real feelings. Foster will play the man’s wife, who is encouraged by their son (Yelchin) to divorce her husband.
Jennifer Lawrence will also star in the film, which should be released in theatres at the end of 2010.
Anton Yelchin has just finished filming Memoirs of a Teenage Amnesiac with Emma Roberts. This film has no confirmed release date for now.
