The Kancamagus Highway Celebrates 50 Years

New England celebrates fall with a parade of colours!

One of the most beautiful roads of New England is preparing to unveil its annual magnificent attraction to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

The Kancamagus highway, whose construction was completed in 1959, is one of the routes required for any nature lover to see trees revealing their fall colours.

Located primarily in the White Mountains National Park, between the towns of Lincoln and Conway, and stretching just over 55 kilometers, the Kanc, as it is called by the locals, was partly built in the 1930s, but had to be completed later because of the Second World War.

Each year, over a million people take this highway, which attracts the highest volume of visitors in October.
