Jay-Z Announces Tour Dates

Jay-Z will embark on a tour to promote his album, The Blueprint 3, this fall.

The rapper has revealed the first dates of his tour, which begins on October 9 at the Bryce Jordan Center in University Park, Pennsylvania.

Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, will be performing an intimate show today (September 9) at the Blender Theater in New York.  On September 11, he will also hold a benefit concert to raise money for the families of police officers and firefighters who died on September 11, 2001 during the attacks on the World Trade Center.

Shows are also scheduled for the United Kingdom and the United States, before Jay-Z participates in the MTV Video Music Awards.

The 39-year-old rapper’s fall tour will visit several college campuses.  He has eight shows for Canada planned in Edmonton, Calgary, Kelowna, Vancouver, London, Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa.
